Underwriter Information
Because an owner's or mortgagee's title policy is only as reliable as the
underwriter's claims paying ability, it is important to work with a reputable
title insurance agent backed by sound underwriting principles. Land Title
Guarantee Company has the unique ability to issue title insurance policies
through three financially sound underwriters:
- Land Title is an agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance
Company. Old Republic (formerly known as Minnesota Title) has been
underwriting policies for Land Title since 1967.
- Land Title also has the ability to write title insurance policies with
First American Title Insurance Company as an underwrtier.
First American Title Insurance Company traces its history to 1889 and is
the largest subsidiary of First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF).
Land Title underwrites most of its metro Denver commercial transactions
through First American Title.
- Land Title has also formed its own underwriting company, Land
Title Insurance Corporation. The majority of Land Title's metro
Denver lender and residential title insurance policies are underwritten by
LTIC.
