Company History
It has been said that all title insurance companies are the same
because most title insurance policies provide the same protections.
However, it is important that title policies are provided by a
title insurance company with a financially secure underwriter
who has a strong claims-paying ability. And since service is what
differentiates title companies, it's important to use a title
company committed to meeting and exceeding the needs of its customers.
Land Title Guarantee Company is one of the oldest and most successful
title insurance companies in Colorado, thanks to their commitment
to providing their customers with the best possible title and
closing services available.
A brief history...
Over forty years ago on March 1, 1967, Land Title Guarantee
Company opened its doors with only five employees. The company
now employs nearly 700 and enjoys an excellent reputation as Colorado's
premier title insurance agency. John Freyer is its president.
Bill Vollbracht, Land Title's Chairman of the Board, attributes
Land Title's success to its employees, who share a people-oriented
approach to business and a concern for each individual customer's
transaction. Land Title is committed to building long-term relationships
with its clients, and most of Land Title's customers are extremely
loyal to Land Title because of its employees' willingness to meet
and exceed customer expectations.
Financial security
In addition to its unparalleled customer focus, Land Title
has the unique ability to issue title policies for four highly
rated title insurance underwriters:
- Old Republic National Title Insurance Company (formerly known
as Minnesota Title) has been Land Title' primary underwriter
since 1967. Old Republic was the first underwriter to receive
an "A+" rating for claims paying ability by Standard
& Poor's and continues to sport an "A+" rating.
- In 1994, as a tribute to its financial success, Land Title formed
its own underwriting company, Land Title Insurance Corporation,
which has received an "A" rating from Demotech for its
financial stability.
- And in 1996, Land Title Guarantee Company became a policy-issuing
agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Chicago
Title and Trust, the nation's leading title insurance organization
with gross revenues of approximately $1.3 billion. Land Title
underwrites most of its metro Denver commercial transactions through
Chicago Title.
- As of 2003, Land Title now has the ability to write commercial
title insurance policies with The Talon Group
as an underwriter.
Talon is a member of The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF)
family of companies, with revenues of $4.70 billion in 2002.
Colorado presence
With its headquarters in Denver's Cherry Creek district,
Land Title Guarantee Company has over 40 office locations throughout
Colorado, including 18 in the greater metro area, and adds new locations
as often as necessary to meet the needs of growing markets. Full
service offices in Fort Collins, Boulder, Castle Rock, Aspen, Colorado
Springs, Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs, Pueblo, and Vail provide
complete title and closing services in counties surrounding those
cities. Land Title also has franchise offices in Durango, Dillon,
and Breckenridge and in 1997 opened up its first out-of-state operation
in the Phoenix, Arizona market.
